Description: In his Soirée Européenne, Prof. Canemaker will present a screening of his short film, The Moon and the Son, winner of the 2005 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, explores the difficult emotional terrain of father/son relationships as seen through the filmmaker’s own turbulent relationship with his father.  Combining original animation, home movies and photographs, it examines an Italian immigrant’s troubled life and the devastating consequences of his actions on his family.  The evening will conclude with a short Q&A session.
