Introduction
This course offers an introduction to the institutional and substantive legal aspects of NAFTA.
It explores some of the controversies relating to the conclusion of NAFTA as well as the ongoing debate in fields such as the environmental and labor law.
The main perspective of the course is however, trade oriented, exploring the range of obligations undertaken by the NAFTA parties and their impact on public and private trade law.
In addition, it will also discuss and introduce other regional arrangements in the hemisphere such as the MERCOSUR. No prior knowledge of international trade law is assumed. Please find the materials posted on our website.
