Soirée Européenne Series, Fall 2008

Soirée Européenne Series
Fall 2008

The Jean Monnet Center for International and Regional Economic Law & Justice, brings together academics from inside and out at NYU School of Law who are broadly interested in matters European. The usual format for such activities are workshops, seminars, colloquia and the like.

The Soirée Européenne Series departs somewhat from our norm in both substance and form.

For each gathering of the Soirée Européenne Series we will invite a guest, often from outside the Law school, often from the world of theatre, music, cinema, literature et cetera. We will invite guests with whom, we believe, the per se encounter would be interesting and enriching. Each guest will be invited to choose as a topic a piece of art, an event, or a theme which is culturally significant in and of itself as well as in bringing new insights to our understanding of some dimensions of Europe.

The Series are made up of several small events specifically designed to create a somewhat more intimate academic and intellectual forum, and as an occasion to recreate a 'Salon' closer to the original sense of the word.

This Fall, we are pleased to welcome the below presenters:
